AIC builds the AIC Intelligence Suite for government departments, law enforcement agencies and private intelligence organisations. Our team is drawn from UK National Security and Defence, and we build the tools we wanted when we were the ones under time pressure.

Origins

We started with a problem we had lived with.

Across national security, defence and law enforcement, the hardest part of an investigation is rarely the analysis. It is getting the material in. Sources arrive in different shapes, at different times, through different authorities, and each one has its own handling rules. Teams end up with copies, spreadsheets and private folders, and nobody can say with confidence where a given fact came from.

AIC was formed to fix that properly rather than patch it. NERVE acquires approved source material, keeps the original byte-for-byte, produces a normalised canonical record alongside it, and makes the result searchable with the provenance chain still attached. Nothing is thrown away to make the search index tidy.

The same principle runs through everything we ship. If a claim cannot be traced back to a preserved original, it is not evidence. If a boundary exists, we write it down rather than leave it for a customer to discover in a live operation.

The suite

Two products. One chain of custody.

NERVE gets information in. CORTEX turns information into intelligence. They are licensed separately and run independently, and they share the same provenance model, so a finding in CORTEX still points at a preserved original in NERVE.

Intelligence Data Fabric

NERVE

Acquisition, preservation, normalisation and search. NERVE holds the original, the canonical record and the derived layer side by side, and every record carries the same provenance fields.

Intelligence layer

CORTEX

Entity resolution, link analysis and reporting on top of material that is already preserved and normalised. CORTEX is a separate licence and can be adopted before or after NERVE.

How we work

Four commitments we hold ourselves to.

These are the rules that shape the product, the documentation and the way an engagement runs.

01

The original survives

Acquired material is preserved byte-for-byte with a recorded hash and an acquisition record. Normalisation and enrichment produce new layers alongside the original rather than replacing it.

02

Boundaries in writing

A hash proves byte identity, not truth. A matching identifier is not proof of the same person. Where a limit exists we state it on the page, in the documentation and in the evaluation report.

03

Evidence before purchase

Every engagement starts with an evaluation on your own material, against acceptance criteria written down before we begin. The report goes to you whatever it says.

04

The data stays where it must

NERVE runs on hardware you own, in private infrastructure you operate, or in approved cloud. The deployment profile follows your accreditation, not our convenience.

Who we work with

Organisations with a mandate to hold the material.

NERVE is licensed to government departments, law enforcement agencies and private intelligence organisations that already hold the authority to acquire and retain the sources they bring to it.

Bring a representative slice of your sources. We agree the acceptance criteria first, run the evaluation, and hand you the report.
