Local operation
NERVE is deployed inside the organisation’s own environment. Processing, storage and search all run locally. There is no requirement to send originals or derived content to an external service in order for the platform to function.
Offline mode
Offline mode removes outbound dependencies so the platform can run without external network reachability. This is a software configuration. A certified air gap is an environment and accreditation outcome, achieved through infrastructure and process, and is not something a setting can grant on its own.
Resumable work
Ingest work is divided into checkpointed units. If a worker is interrupted, restarted or scaled down, the job resumes from its last checkpoint rather than beginning again. Large inputs are processed in bounded units, so a single oversized item cannot stall a queue indefinitely.
Fresh restore
Because originals are retained and transformation parameters are recorded, derived content is reproducible. A fresh restore rebuilds the canonical and derived layers from retained originals. A reprocessing run produces a new version of derived content while earlier citations continue to resolve against the version they referenced.
Failure is visible
Failed items are surfaced rather than quietly dropped. Operators can see what failed, at which stage, and under which parser version, and can re-run the affected items once the cause is addressed.
